Seedorf is a small village with a rather low population. The name of the vast expanse of farming land and the very country Seedorf resides in is called Taglanthas.
Over the last year many fled for unknown reasons, abandoning their homes and their jobs whilst taking nothing but their families and the clothes on their backs.
Surrounding the western and southern borders of Seedorf and her countryside, is a large forest known famously as The Nachtwald. This forest is rumored and proven to house beings of many different bloodlines, some abominations and some creations gone bad. A narrow trail has been cut through the forest proper, lined with runed posts that are believed to be protection wards of some sort for travelers. Even with the narrow passage of protection, many find themselves lured from the safety of the path to the depths of the darkness around them by the beautiful and haunting song of the 'Wald.
While some do not hear the call or the music, others do and it is rumored that many have been lured to their deaths, never to be seen or heard from again. The forest is very much alive with an evil that most dare not to question or investigate. Time and again, the forest has proven her malice by burping evil beings from her depths onto the village. Gremlins, rats and a plague..all thought to have been centered from an angry Nachtwald who wanted to taste and hear the screams of the village folks as her sweet revenge. It is for this reason that one of the most sacred and dangerous jobs in Seedorf is the Nachtwald Border Watch, those brave men and women who travel the boarders of the Wald to be sure nothing has been delivered from her bowels to cause terror on the village people.
The eastern border is touched by the Nachtwald but also houses a very large river, known by traders and river pirates as the Glanzen. (for reference sake, it's as big as the Mississippi River). With a small port area for boats, this is how Seedorf makes a lot of her money, through trade on the river, fishing and so forth. Though with the decrease in population there has also been a suffering and decrease in funding.
Seedorf's countryside is dotted with farmers of many kinds, one of the largest farmsteads is owned by the elder Meyer and his very large family, including a wife and many children.
As with any settlement of land and country, there is a woman who oversees Seedorf and her country. Much like a Duchess, but being as the land is hardly profitable enough for such an elegant title, she's simply known as the Lady of the Land; Nevia Von Abendroth. She rules Taglanthas and oversees the countries directly to the north just over the Thalberg Mountains and to the east through the Nachtwald, the land of darkness, Finsternis.
Not much is known of Finsternis, except that it appears always to be dark..the sky is covered in a thick cloud that seems reluctant to leave, thus she had recieved her name meaning simply " Darkness". Many different beings occupy this land, most are pale of flesh due to the lack of sunlight and a bit strange..perhaps because the Nachtwald is the route of travel when leaving or entering Finsternis.
