I. The right to defend the lands of the Lady and the Steel Tower;
- The Peoples of the lands of the Lady and the Steel Tower are, by law, permitted to take up arms and defend their home - In the name of the Lady first, the Steel Tower, and the People of Seedorf.
II. Interfering with officials;
- The Peoples of the lands of the Lady and the Steel Tower are prohibited from assisting in any arrest made by officials of the land unless asked by a member of authoritive power, else the party in question may suffer an arrest of their own as a result of their actions. Any persons interfering with an arrest which prevents the arresting party from apprehending a suspect, will be charged with obstruction of justice, and an accessory to the crime, and will be punished according to the law.
III. Slavery;
- While slave trade is illegal in the lands of the Lady and the Steel Tower, we agree to see a slave of a visitor to the lands as "property", and may not be removed unless deemed necessary. But even as "property", visitors to the lands must treat their slave(s) in accordance to the laws regarding all humanoid beings in the land, lest they face fines and or sentencing as well as the removal of said "property". For slave trade, see VII-f.
-- a. Slavery by magical means in no way avoids this law. Be it a mind control spell, a geas, or other such spells that puts one or more people at the whim of another. Slavery by magical means is considered much more heinous because it is that much more difficult to detect, even more so to undo. Any means of magical slavery are punishable in the ways of the first, and are acted upon with much greater force and tapping of Our resources to ensure that it does not happen again.
IV. Supernatural Beings;
- It is Our belief as written, that Demons, Devils, Vampires, and other such creatures are inherently evil, and are therefore not permitted to gain citizenship in the lands of the Lady and the Steel Tower. It is also our belief that because of their inherently evil tendencies, they can do no good and have no rights within the lands of the Steel Tower whatsoever.
-- a. Any persons seen and reported to be drinking blood, whether it be from another citizen, animal, or from what may be commonly referred to as "bloodwyne" will be suspected of being a Demon, Devil, or Vampire and in accordance with this law as it is written, these beasts can be slain openly without any legal repurcussions, and rewards are offered for every proven death to one of these foul creatures.
-- b. In following this ideal, we find a separation between Lycanthropic diseases, and Shifting Breeds born into their state:
-- b1. As Lycanthropy is a disease, it must be approached with the utmost caution, and creatures inflicted with such should be judged based on their actions, though cannot attain citizenship, and rights are lost if a citizen is found inflicted with this disease until they can be cured.
-- b2. Shifting Breeds born into such a state, are considered mortal beings gifted by their chosen deity and we will not dispute such, but unlike lycanthropes they can be granted citizenship and if slain, the slayer will be subject to punishment in accordance of the law.
V. Piracy;
- Being a pirate in the lands of the Lady and the Steel Tower does not constitute a crime. Piracy in the waters of the Lady and the Steel Tower, however, is, and therefore punishable to the fullest extent of the law. (See VII-e.)
VI. Fighting;
- Dueling in the lands of the Lady and the Steel Tower is permitted as long as no civilians are endangered. Any participants in a duel that harm a bystander are subject to the full extent of the law, as well as anyone participating in a duel that results in someones' death.(See VII-h or VII-i.) There is no fighting inside any establishment that is not made specifically for such.
VII. Crime and Punishment;
- Crimes committed with or without the intent to commit said act will be punished according to how the Lady sees fit. As we have no court of law like larger, more "civilized" societies, you are subject to this punishment which ranges from a simple fine all the way to exile and execution. Examples are as follows:
